Tata Electronics has entered into a strategic partnership with Tokyo Electron Limited (TEL) to build India’s first semiconductor fabrication plant in Dholera, Gujarat, and an advanced testing facility in Jagiroad, Assam. This collaboration will accelerate the development of semiconductor manufacturing infrastructure, with a combined investment of ?1.18 lakh crore across both projects. Through this partnership, TEL will supply state-of-the-art equipment, offer workforce training, and support R&D initiatives to ensure the success of India’s semiconductor sector. The Dholera Fab and the Jagiroad facility will cater to multiple high-growth industries, including automotive, mobile devices, and AI, enhancing India’s position in the global semiconductor market. Additionally, TEL will leverage India’s skilled talent pool to establish engineering services, further strengthening the collaboration. This initiative is set to play a vital role in meeting global demand for semiconductor chips.

The partnership between Tata Electronics and Tokyo Electron will facilitate the development of India’s first semiconductor fabrication plant (Fab) in Dholera, Gujarat, with an investment of ?91,000 crore. This landmark project aims to produce semiconductor chips for key sectors like automotive, mobile devices, AI, and more, positioning India as a global hub for semiconductor manufacturing. Tokyo Electron will provide crucial support for Tata Electronics’ assembly and testing facility in Jagiroad, Assam, with an investment of ?27,000 crore. As part of the collaboration, TEL will train Tata’s workforce on the use of cutting-edge semiconductor equipment and will also focus on continuous R&D, ensuring long-term innovation and growth.
